Apleona UK were just one of fifteen award winners across the world to achieve National Champion status in the Property & Estate Management/Corporate Innovation category at The Green Apple Environment Awards this November.
This was in recognition of our collaborative efforts with supply chain partners and operational teams to effectively reduce carbon emissions, enhance efficiency, and minimise waste for our clients.
Established in 1994 by The Green Organisation, The Green Apple Environment Awards have become well established as one of the most popular environmental campaigns in the world. They are designed to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice.
With over 1,000 entries in this category alone, Apleona's win underscores the significance of its accomplishments in achieving environmental excellence.
In 2023, Apleona UK made significant strides in sustainability through strategic partnerships with suppliers and various innovative trials aimed at reducing waste, energy, and carbon emissions. Notable initiatives included the use of IoT sensors to monitor critical data such as temperatures, CO2 levels, and occupancy for enhanced energy management, improving energy efficiency by procuring energy efficient Air Handling Unit filters and finding innovative solutions to eliminate single-use plastic cups.
Katerina Robinson, Apleona UK’s Head of Sustainability, expressed pride in Apleona's achievements, stating the effectiveness of company engagement with the supply chain on sustainability: 'We have such strong partnerships in place with our supply chain and we love to learn and explore new ideas together, to implement at our client and our own sites. It’s always a team effort. I look forward to seeing what we can do next!'
This is Apleona UK's fourth Green Apple in three years, reflecting Apleona's commitment to continuous innovation and improvement in sustainability practices. Read more about our sustainability facilities management strategy here https://uk.apleona.com/about-us/sustainability/
