A true partnership
Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) is one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies that discovers, develops and delivers innovative medicine.
Before working with us, the company previously outsourced all facility management services to four different providers. Thanks to our diverse services and expertise, we were awarded a five-year contract in 2022 to provide total facilities management services for three UK sites in Chester, Moreton, and Uxbridge.
Now, our unified team provides a comprehensive facilities management service with everything under one roof. Our services include mechanical and electrical maintenance, security, catering, and cleaning, supported by a dedicated team of 78 Apleona staff. We align with Bristol Myers Squibb’s values by embedding innovation, sustainability, and environmental responsibility into every aspect of our service delivery.
In 2025, Apleona won an International Green Apple Environment Award for our notable environmental achievements with BMS.

Our impacts and achievements
Since partnering with BMS, we have:
Introduced predictive maintenance using Eastway sensors to enhance energy efficiency, reduce GMP deviation events, and improve operational reliability,
Introduced innovative cleaning technology and chemical-free cleaning solutions,
Set up the in-house delivery of external window cleaning,
Utilised drone technology for thermal inspections and roof surveys,
Transitioned to fully electrical vehicles and robotic lawnmowers,
Provided comprehensive training programmes and upskilled some of the team to support other FM services, and
Our Apleona Professional Services division have refurbished the café and reception areas.
"The introduction of the Eastway system at the BMS Moreton site has delivered clear operational benefits in a short period. By enabling early detection and resolution of equipment issues, the system has significantly reduced the number of GMP deviation events, minimised downtime, and helped maintain critical environment conditions. This proactive approach has enhanced reliability, safeguarded product quality, and improved overall efficiency across the site. The Eastway system represents a strong step forward in strengthening our asset management and operational resilience."
