Apleona is thrilled to announce that our support for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals has been recognised by Support the Goals, and we have received their top rating.
The UN Sustainable Development Goals – also known as the Global Goals or SDGs – are a plan to end poverty, extreme inequality, and climate change by 2030. Agreed in 2015 by world leaders, these goals can only be achieved with the support of businesses. Stars are awarded when businesses publicly demonstrate plans, commitments, actions and progress towards the SDGs.
Improving on a four star rating from last year, our fifth star reflects our efforts in engaging with our supply chain, not only promoting the SDGs, but also addressing other important topics such as modern slavery and carbon reduction. Out of the 390 companies listed in the index, we are proud to be one of the 18 companies in the UK with the highest rating.
There are 17 global goals and Apleona UK has a primary focus on 3 of them, Good Health & Wellbeing, Decent Work & Economic Growth, and Climate Action. We have a secondary focus on Reduced Inequalities and Responsible Consumption and Production.
We are soon to release our targets for 2024 in relation to the the SDGs, meanwhile head to our Sustainability page for further resources on our commitments.
